New electric fleet in Overseas Express

Fleet electrification is one of the key trends in the logistics industry. Thinking green at Overseas Express means adopting new habits among our employees and investing in the electrification of our vehicle fleet. That is why, this season, we replaced all vehicles used for cargo handling—forklifts—in our main distribution center with new electric vehicles. This marks the beginning of a series of investments aimed at increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.

The importance of sustainability as a key business principle of the Austrian Post Group, of which Overseas Express is a member, is further demonstrated by the fact that Austrian Post was the first in its market to renew and replace its vehicle fleet with energy-efficient vehicles. Digitalization, service personalization, and sustainability are the core pillars of Overseas Express, and our long-term goal is to reduce our environmental impact and introduce new environmentally friendly practices.

With the new fleet of electric vehicles in the main distribution center, we will significantly reduce energy consumption and enable full online monitoring of forklifts. All of this reduces environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions and noise, which is especially important for employees operating these vehicles.

The green transition also includes a range of additional investments, such as the replacement of the air conditioning system, within which Overseas Express will be the first company in Croatia to commission the Samsung DVM S2 Wind Free system. This system emits extremely low CO2 values, features low electricity consumption, and utilizes wind-free technology.
